“Lungs” is about a couple deciding whether to have a baby. This is the leaping off point for them to discuss just about everything they fear in the world. And while the issue at hand is whether to bring a child into a dangerous world the play is really about the act of making a commitment to another human being.

記得第一次接觸Duncan Macmillan的戲劇是數年前在Slovakia的一個戲劇節看的第一個劇目。當時時我到埗後看的第一套劇，整套劇都是用斯洛伐克文去演，我當然聽不懂啦，但我竟然沒有睡著，還在看畢後被兩位演員的演技感動了。

劇中也只有一對沒有名字的情侶，他們各自有對於生育下一代的睇法。他們對於生小孩這個議題意見對立，引申到環保議題，甚至乎情侶之間會爭吵的事情。編劇從情侶二人的矛盾帶觀眾進入，其後宏觀的表達他們的世界觀。

"I could fly to New York and back everyday for seven years and still not leave a carbon footprint as big as if I have a child. Ten thousand tonnes of CO2. That's the weight of the Eiffel Tower. I'd be giving birth to the Eiffel Tower."

這個劇本簡單易明，編劇從簡單的文字帶出他對世界的想法。
